Elie Saab’s latest collaboration sees the celebrated designer bring his design perspective to private aviation, unveiling a bespoke cabin interior for Bombardier’s Global 8000, the Canadian manufacturer’s flagship ultra long-range business jet.

Known for dressing royalty, celebrities and some of the world’s most discerning personalities, Saab has increasingly expanded his creative vision beyond fashion. Architecture and interiors have become a significant part of the brand’s evolution, from Elie Saab Maison furniture to branded residences in cities including London, Dubai, Riyadh and Casablanca.

The Bombardier partnership was thus a natural extension of Saab’s ethos in craftsmanship, and he was already a loyal customer of Bombardier, giving him first-hand understanding of the expectations of private aviation. He has described the experience on board as being enveloped in a bubble of serenity, a feeling that directly informed his approach to the design process.

Unveiled in June during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, the cabin reimagines the Global 8000 as a private residence in the sky. Clean lines, warm timeless tones and rich fabrics lay the foundations, while subtle bird motifs across the cabin symbolise freedom and movement. The three-zone cabin was designed to maximise openness, with Bombardier’s team using negative space to create a greater sense of volume and flow without altering the aircraft’s dimensions. The design reflects Saab’s approach to contemporary luxury, with understated elegance and exceptional attention to detail anchoring lounge-style seating, refined materials and carefully considered proportions, all purpose-built to envoke a calm and residential feel throughout the cabin.

“With Bombardier, we approached this collaboration with an haute couture mindset, elevating every material and detail into a carefully curated expression of luxury, precision and design excellence,” said Elie Saab Jr., CEO of Elie Saab. “It is truly a new approach to private aviation, where travel becomes a seamless continuation of refined living”.

The first-of-its-kind collaboration reflects a broader shift within the luxury sector, where leading fashion houses are extending their influence beyond the runway and into the worlds of architecture, hospitality, mobility and design. An aviation collaboration of this calibre signals a shifting appetite in the region for further fusing of disciplines across luxury, where air travel under the refined worldview of Elie Saab steps into new dimensions of lifestyle and design entirely.
