Bvlgari has released a short film to mark Emirati Women’s Day, developed in partnership with Emirati cultural visionary and Cinema Akil founder Butheina Kazim. Titled كل ما تتمنين The Girl I Needed, it is the sixth consecutive year the Maison has commemorated the occasion through storytelling.
The film follows Mariam, a young Emirati woman, from childhood into adulthood as she explores identity, belonging and self-acceptance. The narrative frames empowerment as an evolving journey, built through courage and authenticity as well as personal growth.
It arrives under this year’s official theme, “Together, We Rise Stronger and Better”, announced by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation. The theme reflects the collective journey of Emirati women and their continued role in shaping society across generations.

Bvlgari positions the film within a broader commitment to the heritage and stories that have shaped the region, guided by the Maison’s mission to elevate life by revealing magnificent beauty. The Maison describes the result as an intimate reflection on identity and belonging, one that invites audiences to recognise the strength, grace and ancestral wisdom binding Emirati women together as anchors of society and builders of generations.
The film was written and directed by Taqwa Bint Ali, whose work centres on narratives rooted in human experience, exploring emotion and culture in ways that resonate across borders. Production came via Studio HARAKA, a multidisciplinary studio shaped by movement and the cultural rhythms of the Gulf, which brings a distinctive visual language to the telling.
