Nobu has officially opened the doors to its first restaurant in Egypt’s capital, marking a significant new chapter for the globally renowned hospitality brand. Located within Eastown District in New Cairo, the highly anticipated opening welcomed an exclusive guest list led by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who hosted an intimate preview ahead of the public launch bringing together leading figures from Egypt’s business, hospitality, cultural and luxury lifestyle communities.
The opening signals Nobu’s long-term commitment to one of the region’s fastest-evolving luxury markets. Through its strategic partnership with leading developer SODIC, Nobu is entering Egypt with an ambitious multi-dimensional vision that extends beyond dining to include luxury hotels and branded residences too, across three distinct destinations.

Nobu’s first Egyptian outpost, launched last year as a seasonal concept on the country’s North Coast, quickly established itself as one of the summer’s most sought-after reservations, attracting visitors not only from across Egypt but from the wider Middle East and international travellers following the Mediterranean luxury circuit. Its success demonstrated the growing appetite for world-class hospitality experiences within the country and laid the foundation for a much larger expansion.
The Cairo debut also arrives during a defining week for Nobu’s Egyptian portfolio. Just days earlier, Academy Award-winning actor and Nobu co-founder Robert De Niro joined executives from Nobu Hospitality and SODIC in London to unveil Nobu Residences at OGAMI, an ambitious new development on Egypt’s North Coast. The project will ultimately bring together Nobu’s signature ecosystem of luxury residences, a hotel and a flagship beachfront restaurant, creating one of the region’s most anticipated branded lifestyle destinations.

As global hospitality brands increasingly look beyond traditional luxury capitals, Egypt is emerging with renewed confidence. Significant investment in tourism infrastructure, high-end real estate, hospitality and cultural development is reshaping perceptions of the market, while destinations such as New Cairo and the North Coast continue to attract both regional wealth and international attention.
