Geneva is far more than a backdrop for Vacheron Constantin; it is its origin, its inspiration, and its future. In 1755, it was here that Jean-Marc Vacheron signed the contract with his first apprentice, unaware that he was laying the foundations of the world’s oldest watch manufacture in continuous operation. Two hundred and seventy years later, the Maison returns to its roots to share this story with the people of Geneva.

From September 15 to 28, the Pont de la Machine hosts the immersive exhibition The Quest: 270 Years of Seeking Excellence, a journey inviting visitors to step across the threshold and dive into an adventure that began on the banks of the Rhône. Unseen archives, iconic watches, and technical feats trace the history of Vacheron Constantin, revealing to the public the innovations and creations that have shaped its identity and forged its singular character.

But this anniversary is not written in Geneva alone. True to its pioneering spirit, Vacheron Constantin has always taken its expertise beyond borders, captivating watch enthusiasts around the world. In Paris, it was in the heart of the Louvre that the Maison chose to make a lasting impression with La Quête du Temps. Behind the beauty of this monumental astronomical clock lies a true human adventure—seven years of research during which artisans, engineers, and watchmakers united their talents to push the limits of possibility. The automaton that comes to life before the viewer tells not only the time but also the story of perseverance and the poetry of a Maison that still dares to surpass itself.

From this creation was born a watch that conveys the same emotion on the wrist: the Métiers d’Art – Hommage à La Quête du Temps. Limited to twenty pieces, this timepiece distills the audacity of the monumental clock into a miniaturized masterpiece. The patents, complications, and innovations it houses are not mere technical details—they are tangible proof that, 270 years after its founding, Vacheron Constantin continues to invent new ways of inhabiting time.
