Few watches occupy the cultural stratosphere quite like the Speedmaster Moonwatch. Born as a precision tool and immortalised by space exploration, it has long transcended horology to become a design icon in its own right. For the year ahead, OMEGA returns to its legend with a strikingly graphic proposition, stripped back to black and white, and reimagined through a bold play of visual inversion.

At the centre of this new expression is the Moonwatch’s signature stepped dial, now reworked as a refined double-layer construction. A polished black upper plate, finished with a deep lacquered sheen, catches and reflects light with dramatic intensity. Set into it are rhodium-plated subdials, their glossy white bases amplifying the contrast. The visual language is deliberately reversed: a black minute track cuts across a white ground, while crisp white indications punctuate the black dial. The result is both ultra-legible and unmistakably modern, graphic precision with contemporary edge.

That duality continues outward. A black ceramic bezel frames the dial, etched with a white enamel tachymeter scale, a subtle yet purposeful nod to the Moonwatch’s professional roots. A domed sapphire crystal, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective, reveals the depth of the dial without distraction. On the wrist, the classic Moonwatch bracelet balances polished and brushed finishes and features OMEGA’s patented comfort-adjustment system, engineered to move seamlessly with the body.

The collection arrives in two 42mm executions. In stainless steel, the Moonwatch leans into functional elegance, with rhodium-plated hands and indexes coated in white Super-LumiNova for uncompromising clarity, day or night. For a more precious take, OMEGA introduces an 18K Moonshine™ gold version. Developed in-house, the alloy’s softly luminous hue lends the watch a warmer presence. Moonshine™ gold hands and markers, also filled with white Super-LumiNova, are paired with a gold-toned PVD chronograph seconds hand, adding a subtle, sunlit glow.

Powering both models is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. A direct descendant of the legendary Calibre 321, it represents one of the most advanced movements in modern Swiss watchmaking. Master Chronometer certified, it delivers exceptional precision, performance, and resistance to magnetic fields, proof that even when stripped back to its most graphic form, the Moonwatch remains a technical benchmark.
