The Geneva Watch Days 2024 once again showcased the exceptional craftsmanship of Swiss and international watchmakers. This event, which has established itself as a must-attend on the horology calendar, provides a dynamic and decentralized platform for brands to present their creations in an open and accessible setting.

This year, Eyes Magazine had the privilege of discovering the latest timepieces that blend tradition with modernity and is excited to share our three favorites with you. These are the models that captured our imagination with their bold designs, ingenious complications, and respect for horological heritage.

Arnold & Son: Perpetual Moon 38 Red Gold Blue Aventurine & Cliff Grey Editions

Arnold & Son has once again pushed the boundaries of contemporary watchmaking with the Perpetual Moon 38 Red Gold, offered in two stunning limited editions. Featuring dials in blue aventurine and “cliff grey,” these timepieces embody the art of capturing the poetry of a starry sky within a polished 38 mm red gold case. The beauty of these models lies in the detailed depiction of the moon phase, a central element that does more than just tell the time—it tells a story. The moon, crafted from mother-of-pearl and enhanced with Super-LumiNova, glows in an almost magical way, evoking the serenity of a summer night under the stars.

Mechanically, the Perpetual Moon 38 houses the A&S1612 caliber, an exceptionally precise movement whose moon phase deviates by just one day every 122 years. This level of accuracy, combined with a 90-hour power reserve, demonstrates Arnold & Son’s unwavering commitment to technical excellence. The fusion of traditional watchmaking with modern materials like aventurine creates a captivating visual experience, transforming this watch into a true work of art. What particularly captivates us is the watch’s ability to capture the eternal beauty of the cosmos while remaining firmly rooted in the timeless values of horology.

Girard-Perregaux : Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges

Girard-Perregaux, with its Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges model, continues to write its rich and prestigious history in watchmaking. This tribute to the iconic 1889 pocket watch succeeds in blending tradition and modernity within a breathtaking design. The three rose gold bridges, a signature element of the brand, appear to float in midair, suspended within a transparent case thanks to domed sapphire crystals. This ingenious design creates a sense of lightness and transparency, enhanced by natural light dancing across the beveled and polished edges of the bridges.

The choice of a 44 mm rose gold case is not just a statement of luxury; it also symbolizes an aesthetic boldness that seeks to push the boundaries of possibility. Recent enhancements, such as redesigned indices and a more ergonomic crown, reflect a constant drive for innovation without compromising the classical heritage. Every detail of this watch, from the meticulous finishing to the complexity of its tourbillon mechanism, tells a story of passion and artisanal mastery. What particularly impresses us is the perfect alchemy between art and technique, offering an experience that goes beyond the mere measurement of time.

Gerald Charles : Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30° Anniversario 916

The collaboration between Gerald Charles and Ducati has given birth to a bold and dynamic watch celebrating the 30th anniversary of the legendary Ducati 916 motorcycle. The Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30° Anniversario 916, limited to just 250 pieces, embodies the performance and elegance DNA of these two iconic brands. The black forged carbon case, paired with a matte black ceramic bezel, provides the watch with optimal strength and lightness—essential qualities for a model inspired by the world of motorcycling. The ruby red vulcanized rubber strap adds a vibrant touch of color, evoking Ducati’s racing spirit.

What truly sets this limited edition apart is the reintroduction of the jumping hour complication, absent from Gerald Charles collections for over 13 years. The hour display mechanism, inspired by the wheel of the Ducati 916, is not only an aesthetic tribute but also an engineering feat. Powered by the GCA 3002JH caliber, specially developed for this collaboration, the watch combines horological performance with inspired design. Wearing the Maestro 4.0 creates a direct connection to the world of speed and adrenaline—a sensation few watches capture with such authenticity. What particularly impressed us is the harmonious fusion of cutting-edge watchmaking engineering and an unwavering passion for motorcycling.

H. Moser & Cie. x Studio Underd0g: The Passion Fruit Collaboration

This year, H. Moser & Cie. and Studio Underd0g joined forces to create a collaboration that made a strong impression at the Geneva Watch Days 2024. Bringing together the world of traditional watchmaking and avant-garde creativity, the two houses unveiled limited-edition timepieces that embody boldness and elegance. Among them are H. Moser & Cie.’s Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Passion Fruit and Studio Underd0g’s 03SERIES Passi0n Fruit.

The vibrant colors and precious materials of these watches blend with a refreshing creativity, offering a playful approach while respecting the art of watchmaking. The Endeavour Perpetual Calendar, with its lacquered violet dial and Maracuja “Grand Feu” enamel, embodies the sophisticated minimalism dear to H. Moser & Cie., while the 03SERIES Passion Fruit, with its gradient of amber and royal violet, adds a touch of bold modernity. This unique partnership celebrates the shared passion of both brands for horology and captivates with its originality and creative energy, with each model limited to just 100 pieces.

M.A.D EDITIONS: The M.A.D.1S

MB&F unveils a new evolution of its M.A.D.Editions line with the M.A.D.1S. The “S” stands for three key improvements: a Slimmer case, a Single cylinder display, and a Swiss movement. This watch marks a milestone by integrating, for the first time, a Swiss automatic caliber—the La Joux-Perret G101—with unidirectional winding, beating at 28,800 A/h and offering a 68-hour power reserve.

Launched in 2021, the M.A.D.1 collection won over enthusiasts with its avant-garde design and accessible price point. After four successful editions, MB&F has refined the concept further with the M.A.D.1S. Thanks to its single-cylinder display, the watch’s thickness has been reduced by 20% to 15 mm, while maintaining a 42 mm 316L stainless steel case. This new configuration keeps the time display as spectacular as ever, featuring a large hour cylinder.

In addition to its Swiss movement and slimmer profile, the M.A.D.1S features more elegant lugs and a redesigned rotor, offering a clearer view of the mechanism. True to the M.A.D.Editions spirit, it will be available in an exclusive “Purple” edition for MB&F “Friends” and the “Tribe,” and in an “Ice Blue” version accessible via a lottery system.

Offered at an unchanged price of CHF 2,900 + VAT, the M.A.D.1S continues MB&F’s commitment to delivering innovative and daring watchmaking accessible to a new generation of collectors.
