For a century, Phantom has existed beyond fashion, beyond trend, beyond comparison. Chosen by those who shape eras rather than follow them, it has become the ultimate expression of authority and discernment, a constant presence at moments where history quietly turns. To mark 100 years of this extraordinary nameplate, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presents the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, an ultra-rare series of just 25 motor cars, conceived not as a celebration of the past, but as a measured reflection on legacy, continuity, and enduring relevance.
Developed over three years and realised through more than 40,000 hours of Bespoke craftsmanship, the Centenary Collection transforms Phantom VIII into a narrative object. Designers and artisans immersed themselves in the marque’s history, distilling a century of defining figures, journeys, places, and moments into 77 hand-sketched motifs. These are not ornamental details, but rather fragments of memory, woven through every surface to create a motor car that reads like a deliberate, deeply layered anthology. One to be revisited, rather than simply admired.
The exterior carries a cinematic restraint in its own right, recalling the quiet glamour of Phantom’s golden age. A bespoke two-tone finish, infused with champagne-hued crushed glass, gives the bodywork a depth that shifts subtly with light and movement. At its prow stands a reimagined Spirit of Ecstasy, cast in solid gold from a 1925 reference, hallmarked and enamelled to mark the centenary. Even the disc wheels are engraved with meaning, each bearing 25 lines that together form a century.
Inside, Phantom’s story unfolds with extraordinary nuance. The rear seats present a contemporary interpretation of tapestry, developed with a couture atelier and completed with over 160,000 stitches. High-resolution printed scenes depict historic locations and landmark Phantoms, overlaid with embroidery that abstractly references seven significant owners across generations. Elsewhere, laser-etched leather, sculptural aluminium, and the most intricate woodwork ever created by Rolls-Royce combine marquetry, gold leaf, and three-dimensional ink to map Phantom’s most formative journeys.

Crowning the interior, a Starlight Headliner glows with 440,000 stitches, embedding symbols from the marque’s history among constellations of light. Beneath this artistry lies the quiet authority of the 6.75-litre V12, effortlessly and discreetly celebrated in gold. The Phantom Centenary Private Collection is, at its core, a rare affirmation of what Rolls-Royce has always understood: that true luxury is not defined by spectacle, but by permanence, intention, and time well honoured.
