MB&F chose the 2025 Geneva Watch Days to unveil the LM101 EVO, a timepiece that encapsulates twenty years of horological exploration while opening a new chapter. The goal was not to reinvent the Legacy Machine 101, launched in 2014 and already iconic for its 14 mm suspended balance wheel, but to bring it into a more contemporary dimension—more wearable for everyday life—without compromising its DNA. Compact yet spectacular, it captivated audiences with its large suspended balance, hovering above the movement like a symbol of mechanical freedom. Today, it is reinvented in the EVO version, designed to accompany daily life while retaining its exceptional aura.
The EVO spirit, inaugurated in 2020, reflects the desire to make the Legacy Machines more suited to real life. For the LM101, this means a timepiece that is more robust, wearable, and ergonomic. Water resistance up to 80 meters, a screw-down crown, the FlexRing shock-absorption system, and an integrated rubber strap provide unprecedented comfort and peace of mind for a haute horlogerie piece. In this way, the LM101 EVO gains confidence while remaining true to its original balance.
The LM101 EVO will not be limited, yet its production will remain intentionally discreet, with only a few dozen pieces crafted each year. An anniversary watch, but also a statement of maturity, MB&F demonstrates that a major complication can also embrace simplicity and find its place in everyday life.
